I immigrated to Canada from Chile in 1968. My mother was an accomplished painter and was an early influence in my artistic career. I was introduced to photography while attending high school in Delta, B.C. After graduation I attended the University of British Columbia where I became president of the Photographic Society and began to experiment with developing and printing techniques. In the 1980s I taught photography for North Island College and continued to experiment with a variety of photographic processes. In the 1990s the shift from analogue to digital photography provided me with a new base for experimentation. I have embraced the digital darkroom and the possibilities it provides. My work has been exhibited in galleries and public venues in British Columbia and is part of both private and corporate collections.
